Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and the choices and rights you have.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Mindryze collects, why, how it is used and shared, how long it is kept, and the rights you have. It applies to the Mindryze apps for Android and iPhone and to the website at mindryze.app. Please read it together with our Terms and Conditions.

## 1. Who is responsible for your data

Mindryze is operated by Venkat Sai Chikkam, an individual based in India ("we", "us", "our"). We decide how and why your personal data is processed. You can contact us about anything in this policy at support@mindryze.app.

## 2. The short version

  • We collect what we need to give you an account, save your games and progress, run Normal and AI modes, and keep Mindryze secure.
  • We don't show ads, we don't use advertising trackers, and we don't sell your data.
  • Your game data is stored with Google Firebase, in its Mumbai (India) region.
  • You can delete your account at any time from Settings. After 3 days, it is permanently deleted.

## 3. What we collect

### Account information

When you create an account, Google Firebase Authentication stores, on our behalf:

  • your email address, if you sign in with email or with Google or Apple;
  • the name you choose, or the name your Google or Apple account provides (you can change it in the app);
  • your phone number, if you sign in with a phone number;
  • which sign-in method you use, a unique account ID, and when your account was created and last signed in.

If you sign in with a password, it is handled by Firebase Authentication and we cannot see it.

### Game data

When you play, we store the following with your account in Google Cloud Firestore:

  • Your games: for each game you finish, the game and level, your score, accuracy, response times, mistakes, whether you finished in time, the mode you played, the date and time, and a record of the round (the puzzles you were shown and the answers you gave). The round record lets the app check that results are genuine.
  • Your progress: the Normal levels you have completed and the stars you have earned.
  • Your difficulty and AI profiles: for each game, the challenge level you are playing at, recent performance scores, and a summary of the kinds of puzzles you find easier or harder (see section 5).
  • Your day streak, and the date you last played.
  • Your brain skill scores (Memory, Speed, Attention, Flexibility, Problem solving, Language), worked out from your games.
  • Your daily workout (the three games picked for you each day), the skills you chose to sharpen, if any, and how many free AI rounds you have used today.
  • Your agreement to our Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy: which version you agreed to, and when.
  • A deletion request, if you ask to delete your account: the time you asked.

### Information kept only on your device

The app keeps a few settings and notes in your device's own storage. These are not sent to us: your sound setting, the game you opened last, which puzzles you have seen recently (so they are not repeated too soon), whether you have seen a game's tutorial, your choice of theme in Blast Blocks, when a verification email was last sent, and a short count of recent failed sign-in attempts (to slow down password guessing). Firebase Authentication also keeps you signed in using your device's storage.

### Technical information

Google Firebase, which runs our services, processes technical information such as your IP address and device and browser details when your device connects to it, to deliver the service and protect it from abuse. When you sign in with a phone number on our website, Google's reCAPTCHA may be used to check that you are not a bot.

### What we do not collect

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. We do not use advertising IDs, analytics trackers or cookies for advertising, and the mindryze.app website sets no cookies.

## 4. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • create and manage your account and let you sign in;
  • save your games, levels, stars and streak, and show you your statistics;
  • run Normal mode (including easing a level slightly if you fail it twice in a row) and AI Personalized mode;
  • check that game results are genuine, and protect Mindryze, our users and our systems from misuse;
  • show how your skill scores compare with other players' as a percentage ("better than 68% of players"). This uses counts of how many players have each score, with no names, emails or ids, and nobody can see anyone else's scores;
  • understand how Mindryze is used and improve it: each night we add up the day's games into overall totals (for example, how many games of each kind were played, how long people played, how often players come back, and how well each game's difficulty and AI mode are working). These totals contain no names, emails or player ids, only our team can see them, and they are never shared or sold;
  • answer your messages and requests;
  • delete your account and data when you ask;
  • meet our legal obligations.

We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you agree to this Privacy Policy, and, where the law allows, for legitimate uses such as complying with the law.

## 5. AI Personalized mode and profiling

AI Personalized mode uses your game data to plan each new round for you. This is a form of automated profiling, so we want to explain it clearly.

  • What it uses: only your previous AI-mode rounds in the same game: your scores, accuracy, response times, and which kinds of puzzles you solved or missed. More recent rounds count more.
  • What it works out: whether one kind of puzzle is clearly harder for you than the rest, whether you are accurate but slower than typical, and what you do well.
  • What it does with that: it chooses the mix of puzzles in your next round, sets the challenge to your current level, and may give you a speed round. The results card tells you what it trained and why.
  • How it runs: it is a set of rules inside the Mindryze app. Your play is not sent to any outside AI service or chatbot.
  • What it does not do: it is not used for advertising or marketing, it is not shared with anyone, and it does not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. It only changes the games you are given.

AI mode is optional. If you play only in Normal mode, no AI profile is built for that game. Your AI profiles are deleted when your account is deleted.

## 6. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

We share data only with service providers who process it for us, under their own terms and safeguards:

  • Google (Firebase): Firebase Authentication (sign-in), Cloud Firestore (game data), Cloud Functions (for example, completing account deletions) and Firebase Hosting (this website).
  • Google and Apple sign-in: if you choose to sign in with them, they confirm your identity to us.
  • Google Play and the Apple App Store: they distribute the apps. If you buy a paid feature, they process the payment; we receive confirmation of the purchase (such as what was bought and when), but never your card or bank details.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if it is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or us. If Mindryze is transferred to a new owner, your data would be transferred with it, and this policy would continue to apply to it.

## 7. Where your data is stored

Your game data is stored in Google Cloud's Mumbai (asia-south1) region, in India. Firebase Authentication is a global Google service, so your account information may be stored and processed by Google outside India. Where data is processed outside India, we rely on Google's safeguards and on the transfers being permitted under Indian law.

## 8. How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you have an account.

When you ask to delete your account, it is kept for 3 days so that you can change your mind. After that, your game data, your profiles and your sign-in account are permanently deleted. Copies may remain for a short time in our providers' systems while their own deletion processes complete.

If you email us, we keep the conversation for as long as we need it to help you and to keep a record of the request.

## 9. How we protect it

Data is sent over encrypted connections and is encrypted at rest by Google. Security rules on our database allow each account to read and write only its own data. Accounts with an unconfirmed email address cannot read or write any data. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

## 10. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the rules made under it, you have the right to:

  • access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
  • correct or update it: you can change your name in the app, and you can ask us to correct anything else;
  • erase it: delete your account from Settings, or ask us by email;
  • withdraw your consent: deleting your account withdraws your consent and ends our processing of your data;
  • nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to;
  • have your grievances addressed by us, and, if you are not satisfied with our response, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@mindryze.app from the address linked to your account, or tell us how to identify your account. We will reply as soon as we can, and within 30 days.

## 11. Children

Mindryze is meant for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, please use Mindryze only with the permission of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at support@mindryze.app and we will delete it.

## 12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we will tell you in the app or on our website, and where required we will ask for your consent again.
